It would be nice if the White Elephant people would empty the trash that the thousands of people who come to the sale generate. Soon we will be inundated with cars parked everywhere and the trash that escapes from all those people.

One thing that would be helpful, would be for the White Elephant folks to organize some "volunteers" to go out and police the neighborhood. After all the trash that ends up here is from the thousands that you attract.

The white elephant people do take care of any trash generated by people attending the 3 sale days. The rest of the time, volunteers generate no outside trash. The city and waste management need to make regularly scheduled pick ups. Will help solve the rat problem.

I have never ever seen a volunteer doing anything about the trash that your sale brings into our neighborhood. Sure after much haranguing we have gotten you guys to empty a few of the cans near your site... but the trash generated by the thousands that come to our neighborhood... never.

As you are aware every parking space (and then some) in our 4 block by 4 block area is taken up by your shoppers and staff. Even if they don't mean to this amount of traffic will generate a fair amount of trash that escapes as they open and close their car doors... and then we have the others. I have seen many piles of trash left by your shoppers because they didn't want all their items, didn't want the packing... or even just the hot dog wrappers that float down the street.

And this doesn't even take into account the people parking in our driveways, on our petunia's... between your staff and the shoppers who come, you have a terrible negative impact on our small neighborhood.

And by the way... I long predate your sale. I've been here for over 35 years and I have seen the amount of trash and debris that your sale brings.
