Description
Why were the lights on the lightpoles replaced today with extremely and excessively bright white lights when there was nothing wrong with the ones that were there? We don't really need - nor want - all that candlepower flooding the houses on this little street with all that light? Who did it and will they change it back?

"Duke installed a few LED fixtures and have heard some issue on brightness which we will correct by shielding. No further LED lights will be installed until notification to the city".

A "shield" will not diminish the brightness. These lights light up the street at night as if it were dawn -- not to mention the light they cast on people's homes, windows, decks, etc. It really is overkill on these little streets. We're here by the beach to be close to nature - not bathed in extreme artificial light. We don't need our neighborhood lit up with lights bright enough to read by.
The contrast between the remaining orange lights and these new white lights is immense. If the soft orange lights are adequate for Gulf Blvd. - as well as probably required because of the turtle-friendly lighting ordinance - then they certainly are adequate, as they have been for years, everywhere else here.
The shields won't do it - the intensity is an issue.
