I live on 9th ave in the subject area. Speeding on this street has been reported to the city many times in the 31 years I've been living here. It is time for the city to protect the citizens of this neighborhood from reckless drivers! This street is a racetrack and residents should not have to tolerate it any longer.

We need action. The city and SPPD have an obligation to insure our neighborhood is not a racetrack. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

Thank you for your tip on SeeClickFix dated February 22, 2017. Chief Holloway has asked me to respond directly to you regarding the issues of speeding in the area of 7410 9 Av N. The information you provided was forwarded to Community Service Sergeant Mitch Detty to investigate.

Sergeant Detty reported that he assigned Officer Timothy McClintick to check on the issue. Officer McClintick advised that he conducted multiple directed patrols in the area. The patrols were conducted at various times of the day in hopes that they would be more effective in reducing the speeding. The traffic Unit is also aware of the situation and stated that they have worked this area in the past and will continue to monitor this area in the future.

The Police Department, and more specifically the Community Service Unit, will begin more aggressive enforcement and conduct several operations in the area to target the activity. These operations will be conducted during various hours and days.
