Thank you for contacting City of Huntsville Traffic Engineering. As you may be aware, the Department of Transportation, ALDOT, is currently in an active road project that has reduced the number of lanes through the construction area. Some intersections have been closed south and north of Byrd Spring that has resulted in significant increase/shift in the volume of traffic at the intersections of Byrd Spring and Lily Flag. As a result of traffic increase, the intersections in the construction area have and continue to experience capacity issues. We have monitored the intersections and continue to do so, by making all necessary timing changes to accommodate the extra traffic. We have determined that the intersections are working as programmed at the current time. We thank you for your patience during this construction phase and will continue to make adjustments as needed.
