Transportation Department staff have completed 24-hour vehicle speed and volume studies on 7th Street between 45th Avenue S and Bayou Boulevard in this a 30 MPH speed zone and the results recorded a total of 203 vehicles with an average operating speed of 29.03 MPH. A total of 2 vehicles were recorded travelling in excess of 10 MPH over the 30 MPH speed limit. These are what the Police department would consider enforceable, unfortunately these speeds do not qualify for speed humps, as the threshold average operating speed of 35 MPH was not achieved.
