Description
Stop sign needed on Clubhouse Road, (West Bound), BEFORE the Venice Waterway bike path crossing. Bikers and walkers on the path are endangered because vehicles on Clubhouse Road cross over the path BEFORE being required to stop. There IS a stop sign after the VWP crossing; but it, too, is necessary at its current location at the intersection of Gulf Drive and Clubhouse Road. Another stop sign is needed BEFORE the bike path so that Vehicles do not cross the VWP without stopping to look for bikes zooming through. Respectfully submitted, Linda Dalton

Country Club Estates (CCD) thankfully improved the safety of the crossing by adding the mirror for cars turning onto Clubhouse Road.
However, there is still a very limited line-of-sight for motorists "leaving" CCE.
Adding just one official stop sign going west (when leaving CCE) on Clubhouse Road and VWP would certainly improve safety for cyclists/pedestrians. Vehicles pick up speed on that stretch when crossing the VWP and may be unaware that they are crossing bike/pedestrian path.
I don't think that there is a need to have a stop sign going east on Clubhouse Road as vehicles turn into CCE and cross the VWP, since they tend to slow down because they are turning.
