Four problems have combined to make the Broadway corridor from 34th Street to Broadway Terrace a complete parking lot during commute hours. First, thanks to our enemies at Kaiser, we now have 9 stoplights in a 7 block distance on Broadway. Second, the new buildings at Broadway & Pleasant V Ave, including the yet-to-be-finished shopping center, will combine during the next year to make traffic much worse than it is now. Third, the City has no remote idea (or perhaps concern???) how to move traffic. Especially in the Kaiser corridor, we literally need ALL LIGHTS GREEN on Broadway for one minute or so at the same time every several minutes simply to avoid gridlock. Yet the idiotic "programmer" whom the City allegedly employs to "manage" traffic clearly has no clue how to do his/her job. Fourth, the City, in its infinite lack of wisdom, has eliminated a driving lane and changed it to a green bicycle lane in portions of Broadway. That's fine for you bicyclists, who frequently ride everywhere other than the bicycle lane, however, during commute hours, this is twisting the knife in the heart of drivers trying to move their vehicles faster than 5 MPH. Thank you Sue M for addressing this issue. If anyone from the City of Oakland is reading this, PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!! Your addition of pollution in our air is injuring and killing us
