Actually, the bikes have been there for YEARS. I've lived on Adair for 11 years and for the first month I lived here, I thought the Mormons were visiting him. I think the real solution to this problem is to change the "no parking" from the east side of the street to the West side of the street. This serves two needs: 1. the homeowner no longer has to worry about people trampling on his yard/garden or parking in front of his house and 2. it allows those visiting Adair Park to park on the same side of the street as the park (where there's a sidewalk -- there isn't a sidewalk on the West side of Adair whereas there is a sidewalk on the East side.) This would be SO MUCH SAFER for parents and their children. I, however, do not know what the process is for having this idea heard and acted upon.

Megan J - that's a great idea! Not sure of process either, but when Melrose Ave. was moved to single side parking, the approvals went through the City Commission. Looks like the next meeting is on Monday, the 17th? I would bring this idea to their attention to see what options exist.

Yes, they've been blocking that spot with unused bikes for at least 9 years. I don't know if it's legal or not. It's a valid parking spot, and very convenient to Adair Park. Switching the side of the street you can park on is a pretty solid idea, I think.

The bikes being on the street actually make it easier and safer to drive. Since that house is just before the curve, if there is a car parked there you cannot see the oncoming car and there is no room to negotiate around the parked car. The owner's bikes parked in front of his own house help keep the flow of traffic smooth and safe. I dont understand the issue, would there be complaints if he parked his car there? Do his bikes prevent you form parking there in front of his house?

If only everyone would be considerate enough to block public parking spots with their bikes!

As a cyclist these parked bicycles actually impede my route. Since that would happen anyway if cars could park there why not let them?

COD we need a response to this issue. Parking a disabled vehicle (bikes with nonfunctional tires) on a public street is illegal. Please reassign to another officer for resolution. Thank you.

Derelict car (notice the flat tire) has been abandoned on Adair St for many months, taking up the limited street parking near the popular Adair Park. Please have this car towed as soon as possible. Thank you.

Well, after noticing the bikes parked there for quite some time, I decided to make a complaint here. To my surprise, the issue has been raised here as early as 2017. And it is still open! I actually went to Google Maps and used their lookback option, and the bikes show up in the streetview since............2008! So, does the owner of this house work for the City, and so it's just being ignored? The idea of switching sides of the street sounds reasonable. Why has nothing been done? Looks like it will take someone showing up at a Council meeting and asking the question. Or someone who owns bolt cutters and a truck.

Probably closed because the plans for the Adair Street traffic calming project this year include switching street parking to the east side in that section.

Now that the parking lanes have been marked on the opposite side of the street, this derelict car and bikes are parked in the flow of traffic.

As I mentioned here in 2018, these bikes actually impede my bike route from work, putting me into the flow of traffic when I'm doing my best to keep right. They have been there for at least 15 years but not sure what the book of record was before SeeClickFix. Either way, the level of inaction here has become typical when issues reported on this platform are transferred to the police department, becoming a dead letter office.

This is insane. I was under the impression if a vehicle was not moved for a certain period of time it was considered abandoned and ticketed to be removed. This happened on Upland Road and the car was removed ( either by the city or owner, I am not sure which)
