Last week the convertible top on my car was slashed to ribbons. This is a $3000 repair (thank goodness for insurance). The only thing taken was a $20 pair of workout pants. The police came and made a report, but there wasn't even a promise that they would try to find the vandals. No mention of stepping up patrols or anything of the sort. The officer did, however, tell me that the vandals would most likely return. Now I'm afraid to even bring my car home from the shop. What can we as a community do to make our homes safe from this threat?

You might consider contacting Sgt. Diaz with the Chattanooga Police Department and discuss with him how you can start a Neighborhood Watch Program. This program has been a very good deterrent to neighborhood crime. You can contact Sgt Diaz at 698-2525.
