why does my sump run all year? all day? i need my sump to run into the sewer. This is a CITY problem. It runs and freezes and now my basement is about to flood! phone me immediately!

I'm experiencing the same issue. My sump runs all year, it only stopped in mid December and started again in mid January.

Same situation here as our house is lower than those on each side. Our sump has not stopped all winter and there's nowhere left in the back or front yards for it to go. What can the Lot Grading Coordinator do about it if the homes are over 10 years old?
