Description
The small, triangular plot of land that previously housed a Mobil station is quickly becoming an eyesore in an otherwise well cared for center of town. I assume if this were town property it would look better than it does...which leads me to believe it is privately owned. Does the town have any sway with the property owner? Can the town reach out to him/her in an attempt to have the lot cleaned up a little...at the very least to have the grass cut...I can't imagine anyone in town would object to that plot of land being neatened up.

Passersby in the town center recently may have noticed that a 13-year landmark is no more -- Rudy’s Fuel & Auto Service at 30 Central Square, the triangular crossroads of Route 27 and Route 4.
But while rubble and fencing now occupy the site, Rudy’s in fact hasn’t gone very far -- with a new Citgo gas station and service station at 8 Littleton Road, on Route 110, less than a mile away.
Town Manager Paul Cohen said Standard Oil Company applied for permits to demolish the building and remove gas pumps and fuel tanks at the site, which had stood vacant for several weeks. Fire Chief Gary Ryan said Standard Oil applied in care of Alliance Energy, a company based in Waltham.
Cohen said once the fuel tanks are removed, Standard Oil intends to repave and regrade the site to surface levels. However, no other plans for the site have been filed with the town at this time, Cohen said.
The fuel and service station was a Mobil affiliate.
The parcel on which the service station stood until recently is owned in part by Rudy Alvarez, owner of Rudy’s Fuel & Auto Service, and Alliance Energy. Alvarez said he owns 75 percent of the property, including a part on which a rental property still sits.
