The sidewalks are too narrow for kids and parents to safely walk to and from Holmes school. Half the time you need to walk in the street, which is not safe due to the aggressive drivers that are backed up to the intersection.
Not to mention when the state replaced the storm drains they did not bother to make them level with the sidewalk. They also tore up several curbs along the walk and did not repair, though the side of the street without sidewalks has nice new curbs.
I'm afraid that the dangers to pedestrian traffic will only increase with the proposed high density development on Hoyt street. They want to add a third lane by removing the adjacent sidewalk. It's already hard enough to walk in this town. This will only make it worse.
