Sarah must be new to Medford. There is much to like about Medford. The condition of the streets and traffic enforcement are not on the list. Grin and bear it 'cause it will never change.

Not new. There have been consistent crashes since I moved to this intersection 4 years ago. The closed ramp off 93 and the new housing developments have increased traffic on rt 16. People are running red lights to make left turns, and I witnessed two multi-car crashes in the last 2 weeks. Left-turn crashes are known to be particularly deadly, and there is a lot of great research on ways to reduce them before someone gets killed.

ok. I live up Winthrop and use that intersection a minimum of twice a day. My favorites are the yahoos who fly down the right hand lane on Winthrop from the other dangerous rotary and then make a left onto 16, cutting off the left also making a left in the correct lane. 99% of the dingbats are from Winchester. They are same drivers who blow their horn and swear at you if you are waiting at the light to go straight to Tufts and they want to make a right. I like to get out of the car and walk back and ask if they need help. never a dull moment, and the Medford police claim it is a state police issue.

I really don't understand why there is never a police car at the intersection of Winthrop and 16 the city could make so much money writing tickets! It is such a dangerous road and intersection. At rush hour there should always be a patrol car driving up and down.
