I do not agree with the school policy at LW Beecher in many ways, but for the sake of this posting I will address the main one. I don't understand what kind of person would keep kids locked out of the school because "school does not start until 9am", how is this ethical? What type of thinking is that? So, an adult really thinks it's a great idea to shut the doors, regardless of the weather and have these children outside? Which genius thought of that?
I asked the principal, (who by the way is always busy), her opinion about this and she said it was not her fault, it's the Department of Education. So I asked what are parents who go to work early supposed to do? She said, "Make arrangements I guess".
Thanks for the advice, I discussed my problem with my boss, explaining that I am a single parent and I really have nobody who can bring my child in at 9am, and he said, "Well, if you continue to come in late, we will have to take serious measures".
Thanks alot.
