These barrels were maliciously destroyed. They should be replaced immediately.

This matter was thoroughly investigated by the Solid Waste Compliance Officer and the leadership here at DPW.

The trash carts are connected to a lift on the back of the truck and are raised up by the truck’s hydraulics. The damage of the container is from general wear and tear, not from any malicious action of the workers. The trash carts we sell are made of very durable plastic and come with a ten-year warranty from the date of manufacture however, it has been determined that your trash carts are over 13 years old which exceed the manufacturer's 10 year warranty.

These carts needs to be replaced at the property owners expense.

It's not wear and tear, when they are crushed. And mine was crushed. We have several, all purchased on the same day, but ONE of them was crushed, maliciously.

They do it all the time & get away w it!

The original poster stated she "witnessed " the purposeful destruction of her barrels. Not "normal wear and tear" according to her, the crew put the barrel in the rear of truck and lowered the crusher. How is that normal??

Next time someone sees it happening make sure you take photos...there is no way they can refute visual proof!

Just the barrel is proof enough; mine is cracked in a way that nearly sliced the circumference... Only a trash truck compactor could do this, I don't have a hammer big enough or a knife sharp enough... It's not "wear and tear", not even close... I cannot fathom the audacity of that excuse. That, more than anything, is insulting.

There will not be a replacement cart provided. You may purchase one at the Drop Off Facility.
