Thank you for using FayFixIt. A complaint has been entered for the Code Enforcement Division. An inspector will visit the property to identify the described violations. CE20170805-08312
sir i provided you with a link to the fay city codes ,its online and it's free reading to all
if you have questions about the code contact the city code office, a city manager or your elected rep for the district you live in , they are public employees and work for the residents of the city and are funding by our property taxes , which as a city resident and property owner i pay. i would hope if i was a code officer i would be doing my job and not depending on the residents who have to generate a income to pay the taxes, that pays for them to have a job, to do their work
I understand but to stand 1/2 the length of a football field and snap a picture of what looks like a small banner not impeding foot traffic is a little bizarre. It isn't causing anyone a problem and @ best Fayetteville on a good day has 2 Code Inspectors on our city streets to sift through all these complaints and check them out. It looks like a temporary SALE sign which is perfectly legal as long as it doesn't obstruct traffic flow or become a HAZARD for customers and foot traffic.
This property has been inspected and confirmed to be in violation. The inspector will continue to work with the property owner until the violation has been corrected.
Here are few more sections of the code that may apply to this sign as well:
30-5.L.5. Exempt Signs
c. Signs Not Legible Off-Premises
Signs which are not legible from the boundaries of the lot or parcel upon which they are located, or from any street right-of-way.
30-5.L.6. Signs Authorized Without a Permit
Temporary Business Signs (Business Promotions) :There are three opportunities for businesses to promote themselves with special temporary signage: grand openings, going out of business sales, and specified holiday events. Business promotions may extend for 30 consecutive days for grand openings and going out of business sales. The time frame for specified holiday event promotions is provided below. Businesses may promote themselves with attached or freestanding banners (maximum area: 32 square feet; maximum height: 10 feet; one per frontage), with American flags, and with small balloons (12 inches or less in diameter) and balloon clusters not to exceed 8 feet in height.
In addition to grand opening and store closing events, temporary business signs may be displayed for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Veterans Day sales events up to three days before and on the day of the event. If the holiday happens to fall on a Saturday, the temporary signs may also be displayed on the Sunday following the holiday.
