private contractor abandons sidewalk after tearing it up to run fiber optics. Seems very strange to me that the city would allow this public sidewalk to be a hazard for over 2 weeks. No contractors have been seen working on this since they tore it up 2 weeks ago. It is two days till the biggest Festival in St Charles occurs with 50,000 people walking down that sidewalk. I don't know who owns the adjacent building to the site but, I would think they would be very upset that this is allowed in our otherwise fine City.
