Description
I have been to tukwila center 3 times this month and noticed the lights in The covered entrance, walkway lights and the back river view brick area are on during the day. I was there on days where it was muggy and thought it was one of those sensor things and it wasn't bright out to turn it off. Today I was there it it is full on sunny and they are on so I think someone needs to make sure they are turn it off cause I am sure that's wasting a ton of money.

Thank you for your comment. We will look into into the costs of adding an automatic timer to turn the lights off.
The City does have a robust program to reduce energy consumption associated with City operations. Tukwila was one of the first cities in Washington State to use LED streetlights and several years ago the City completed major retrofits to the lights at City Hall, Foster Golf Course, and the Tukwila Community Center. These improvements have already paid for themselves several times over.
