Is there a noise ordinance during day? Contacted police dept at 3pm due to loud music occurring for over 5 hours and can b heard inside our home. Police said there is not one during the day.

There are no health regulations that apply to loud music. The regulation requires an increase of 10 decibels over ambient background noise levels for a violation to exist. Loud music would not attain a 10 decibel difference.

Loud music can absolutely be 10dB higher than ambient noise levels, it just depends how much amplification is available. Light traffic levels are typically 50-60dB above theshold of audibility, an alarm clock can reach 80dB, and a rock band in concert well over 100dB.
