Description

There are several things wrong with this intersection. First, directional arrows need to be painted on the pavement for traffic entering Route 7 from County Route 8. It is very unclear, and once I observed a driver sitting in the oncoming lane waiting to turn east on NY 7.

Second, as the light turns red for traffic heading west on NY 7 drivers frequently run the yellow light. The next light just west of this intersection turns red early, causing a bottleneck. Traffic waiting to turn onto NY 7 West from County Route 8 has to wait several cycles to merge into traffic.

Third, the timing of the next light just west of this intersection on NY 7 needs to be changed. It has a very short cycle and frequently leads to the previously mentioned bottleneck.
