Wow Harry, you should have that chiseled on stone tablets. If common sense were so common everyone would do it and the parking lot wouldn't be an issue. Since it isn't as common as you seem to think it is there are certainly things that could be done to make the parking lot safer for drivers and pedestrians. These issues and concerns can be addressed with minimal cost and improved safety. Seems more of a no brainer than your "common sense" that isn't so common.

Tell me Kathy, how would improvements to a parking lot stop people from running a stop sign? Should there be a gate that gets raised only after you come to a complete stop?

Actually I think common sense does apply quite rationally in this situation. Idiot drivers are not going to change no matter what kind of markings you put. Everyone knows you drive on the right side, idiot drivers dont care. Idiots are still going to run stop signs, speed, cut people off, and not use their turn signal.

This crazy parking lot is downright dangerous! There are several bars in that area and you get drunks behind the wheel. Also, there are elderly people trying to manuever through there. It's a complete mess! Something really does need to be done before someone is hurt or killed.

It is private property and who owns the property does not care. lLook how long it took to get the potholes (craters) filled. I rest my case. BTW, how does one find out who owns this property?

Thank you Cosmos Human for yet another negative "nothing will ever change" commentary. Yes it is private property, and yes the potholes were finally filled in, but if you look on the Lake County Auditors website you will see that the parking lot(s) and buildings are owned by different groups. One company owns the Giant Eagle building and parking lot, another owns the building that used to house the video store and the little cesars, yet another owns the building containing the chinese buffet and those shops, etc. The city can work with those owners to make it safer. By putting these issues out there something may get accomplished even if it doesn't happen as quickly as we want.

Hello, I would like to make a suggestion please, because I drive through this place all the time. I for one think that the only dangerous drivers in this area are the drivers that use these parking lots as a go through street. I think that a couple of stop signs and speed limit signs while some cops patrol this area will make this place a whole lot safer. I have had success simply driving slow and watching for cars as if I were driving in a parking lot. It is funny watching some people drive through here and thinking that these people if they only timed there journey through this parking lot as apposed to taking Andrews road really does not save any time off their journey, LOL. Challenge time yourself you will see that I am correct. God bless, good luck.

Taking Andrews road isn't a useful route if you need to travel on Plains Road over to Hopkins.

I too have had several close calls by vehicles that fail to stop when entering the main driveways from the parking rows. It's chaotic because people don't seem to understand which traffic has the right-of-way. This could be improved by painting white stop lines at the end of each parking row and other appropriate locations. I believe a majority of people would follow a traffic pattern if they actually could actually identify it.
