wbhome, think outside the box. If there are 7 cars waiting on each side, it's much quicker to let all 7 from one side go, then all 7 from the other side. YOU would advocate a 1-at-a-time approach which involves 14 separate starts and stops, taking much more time overall. (Of course, if you are the first in line on the 2nd side, your impatience trumps common sense!)

How much sense is a yield on both sides. How about yield on one side and oncoming traffic does not stop on the other?

This bridge is BIG enough for 2 cars to cross simaltaneously in either direction. It was a 2 lane bridge before, why is it so difficult for people to drive properly nowadays?

It is definitely more efficient for more than one car to go at a time here. Some people get that and others don't. The ones who don't are the ones who are most upset about it.

reallypeeps1 has a valid point. I crossed that bridge in 1975 with a 1972 Buick Electra and a Tastycake truck. The reason it's a one-laner now is because people can't drive.
