Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think one other thing to do in this situation is to call the Police non-emergency number and dial ext 7 for dispatch. The number is 248-857-7890. They can send a patrol officer over at the moment. Our neighborhood watch group has had officers practically pleading with us to call when suspicious activity is happening so they can prevent crimes rather than have to investigate them. Yes, sometimes the officers are busy and cannot come right away but we have not had many problems in that area. They have been quite prompt.
