Description
Hello, during the snow storm while a DPW truck was plowing county st , it took out my mailbox on the sidewalk. Is there anyway I can get it restored or replaced ? I do want to say that the city did a great job keeping up with the storm and I appreciate it.

At 14 Hodges St., whenever the sidewalk is cleared, the plow person turns out into the street and leaves a large portion of the sidewalk uncleared; then proceeds to return to the sidewalk and continue to move onward. The area left uncleared is on a downhill slant. there is a telephone pole along the area that is left uncleared and it seems that the plow person thinks there is not enough space to plow between the pole and existing property wall across from it. This is not the case; as a matter of fact there is another pole about 30 feet forward that is the EXACT distance from a fence on the opposite side of the sidewalk, which the plow person easily plows, between that pole and the fence pole opposite.
In the past, there was a low-hanging electrical box on the pole in question across from 14 Hodges St., but that box was removed @ two winters ago, yet the plow person CONTINUES to skirt that area by turning out into the street. There is no reason currently to avoid plowing the sidewalk along 14 Hodges St. anymore; the distance between that pole and the pole further down is THE SAME. Perhaps there are written directions somewhere in the plowing department, warning the plow person to circumvent that section of the sidewalk, but there is no longer ANY reason to do so.
I walk my dog daily down that sidewalk area, and when it snows and the sidewalk is cleared except for that area mentioned, I am forced to walk out onto the street next a very busy traffic area along St. John's School, as parents with large SUVs drive up and down a very old and narrow street. I am a senior citizen with a hip replacement, and am always afraid I may slip on the unplowed section of that sidewalk and fall.
If this issue could be corrected, and the ENTIRE sidewalk along that area could be plowed, I would be very grateful. Thank you for your consideration.
