As the road is heated and cooled through the seasons it heaves and sinks. At times this can leave a manhole cover sticking up or down below above the road level. Its actually the road moving not the manhole. During the summer season asphalt is used to make these manholes flush again with the road if needed. This manhole was recorded on the list for spring monitoring.
