It is discouraging that you would not contact us with your actual information so that we might discuss with you how the tree nursery program is a program designed to grow trees at a very low cost to the community (in an effort to keep our taxes low). Its a great park tree provided for less than 50 of your tax dollars. The average amount of taxes paid to the Village from homes in this area is typically less than $1,000 per year, and in most instances, much less. We are provided many, many great services for this low cost. As a tax payer, who desires to keep the taxes low, should we prefer a larger straighter tree for $600, or a nice imperfect, yet valuable park tree for $50? Low cost tree replacement, in some locations, is a proper way to help keep our expenses (and taxes) low. I am an Algonquin taxpayer and on your side; I wish that was easier for you to believe.
