Good Morning,
My name is Juanita Merriweather, a constituent of district 4, a resident of Cherokee neighborhood, a member of Cherokee neighborhood watch group. I am writing you on behalf of the neighborhood watch group as well as myself. We have report this issue to the Mayor Action (311) and the Airway Police Station with no result. We are asking for help to direct us to the right person or department responsible for getting a solution to this issue/concerns,
The residents at 1430 Smythe Ave, 38114 have open up a car washing business as well as selling cars at their apartment. Not only is this a nuisance with additional traffic in the neighborhood, but the cars are blocking driveways as well as the street. The apartment/car wash is located directly behind Cherokee Elem School which also cause concern for the safety of the children. We are asking for your assistance in resolving this problem.Thank you very much for helping us with this matter.

Call 222-2300 since our Shelby county code inspectors would be involved for such violations. City & county each have their own codes they regulate. We need to help educate the public.
FYI - Report to Shelby county code for any commercial property, for any suspicious business in a residential home or area, any & all overfilled dumpsters at a residential or commercial property , any rental storage pods at a residential property for more then 30 days., any commercial vehicles in a residential or on residential property ,
Any business with tires, junk, cars parking on grass , merchandise sitting out to lure customers in, business that sell or repair cars that have vehicles on grass, business that are storing disabled cars that are not used directly in the business, illegal posted advertising signs, banners on property , easement, windows, etc are some examples to report to 222-2300
