It's quite possible. I don't know them or the amount of attention they give their pets however based on the barking outbursts it would seem to me the dog is lacking attention.

Why don't you call animal control ?? I would think if this is such a big issue you would do so. Is this dog neglected?

Did anyone ever think that maybe the the dog is being let out to excercise and is just doing what every other dog does? Bark.
It is not unheard of that a dog barks at things when he is outside. He could see other dogs, people or even bears that may cause this "nuisance" activity. Maybe the person who originally filed this complaint should confront the "neglectful" owners if this bothers them so much. It seems that whenever someone has a problem they get on the internet to complain about it, instead of trying to resolve it like adults. And, by the way, I live in that neighborhood and it was never quiet. How could you possibly expect it to be quiet 24/7. Many residents have dogs, kids, and activities which they are involved in that create this "nuisance" noise problem every day. What is even worse is the out of state cars that speed up and down our once quiet neighborhood.

Maybe if the complaintant were to " man " or " woman " up, and go speak with the owners of the animal instead of writing a cowardly anonymous article, this issue could have been cleared up very easily. The other option would be to call the authorities and have them sort it out. At least that way you would be liable for your actions if this were actually a real issue. This may very well be a problem for the complaintant of this issue, but your inability to step forward and actually confront someone in person is far worse than a dog barking!!!!!!!!

Greetings opinionated replyers... I used this website as a vehicle to ask for advice, and clearly that's what I got. Those of you who live in the neighborhood obviously notice that the barking has subsided a bit since the original complaint was written which is wonderful and I am glad the owners have recognized the issue. Nobody wanted to call the authorities or have to make for an awkward situation with neighbors. Dont get me wrong, when push comes to shove where an awkward neighborhood intervention is needed, we are afraid of pursuing it In the meantime since the barking has not been as bad it we will hope the problem is being addressed. The 6:30AM outbursts are awful and late a night. During the day it is only the 2nd shift folks who have to listen to it.

Kids make noise, people occasionally have gatherings and dogs bark! Come to Sageway and listen to this Shepard and you will clearly be able to tell the difference between normal noise and obnoxious, intrusive barking from a neglected dog.

Why do you keep referring to this dog as neglected? Have you ever seen the owner abusing this animal, or leaving it chained outside for hours unattended, without food,water or shelter? I didn't think so. Also ma'm, you must not have lived here for very long or you would no how the noise level rises dramatically in the summer. We all have something that bothers us about our neighbors but we try to make the best of it. It may not always make us happy, but we must all learn to coexist and make the best of the situation we are in. It could be much worse than a dog just trying to express himself.

I am sure you treat you pet very well so I apologize for accusing you of what seems like a dog needing attention If you would kindly not allow your dog to express his self until 7:30AM that would make a lot of people in the neighborhood happy.

Has anyone considered that this dog goes out at these times because these people work. The times that this dog is let out does not seem unreasonable. I also find it hard to belive that someone could accuse a pet owner of neglect because the dog barks. do you have proof of this dog being mistreated by the owner?if so then it is your responsabilty to report this to the proper authorities. Animal neglect is a very serious matter If you dont have proof of this then why would you make these kinds of allegations?GermanShepherds are very vocal dogs they will bark if they see other animals or hear something .that is just thier nature. As far as an akward situation i think you have created one by posting things that are ridiculous.

As an owner of a german shepard. I can tell you that they bark at every thing. When my dog goes out he barks at something. That as one of the previous commentors stated is what they do. They are very protective dogs, whether that be of theirs families or their yards. Mine has scared a bear off with his barking.

It seems at the very least that we may need an intervention from the "dog whisperer".....'cuz if you watch the show......both pet and pet owner seem to be very happy when he leaves.....just a thought...?

I lived in this neighborhood for 13 yrs. Dogs barking, kids playing and occasional summer barbecues with music playing. This is suburban life. Maybe you should move into the city where there are trucks rumbling by every day and lots of traffic. Dogs need to be let out to relieve themselves and run around that is not neglect just because it barks at everything that is not in it's comfort zone. Sounds like you never owned a dog. You can't control everything around you , so control what you can. Get some ear phones and go back to bed. Just saw this and you obviously got the house number wrong as there is no shepherd there.

Its not a shepard its like 3 dogs. They are left out sometimes till 11pm and they cry all night also their left out in the rain and hot days all day. On cold days there left out as well and their dog pen smells. People like this should not be allowed to own pets. Them poor dogs
