Imagine you were the first in line at this traffic light. Can you turn left can you turn right can you only go straight? Unless you are two or three cars back you don’t know.
Directional signs should be attached near the traffic signals not across the intersection from them.
Without seeing them you would not know the left lane is straight only in the right lane is right turn only. Recently the left lane has been changed to a no left turn lane.

The left lane still has cars holding up the lane to turn left.
The right lane cars will go straight through the intersection rather than turning right. If the left lane car isn’t careful they will get hit.
It happens regularly as I travel that intersection daily.
