Thank you for your e-mail to SeeClickFix # 4415295 regarding the speeding violations occurring along 18th Avenue South and 2nd Street. This was forwarded to Community Service Sergeant, Brian Gainer, to investigate and address. Community Service Officers Derrick Nelson and Chris McClure approached the issue by setting up a Department speed trailer in the area to collect data pertaining to specific times of occurrence, ultimately allowing them to conduct more effective speeding operations. As the speed trailer gathered data, the officers conducted Directed Patrols in the area to cite and educate speed violators. Assistance has also been requested of the Patrol Officers via their supervisors in incorporating the area into their Patrol Plans.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and should you have any further complaints regarding this issue, please feel free to contact Community Service Sergeant, Brian Gainer, at (727) 893-4907.
Sincerely,
Joseph Dente
