For the second time in under a month, a vehicle traveling at high speeds went over the sidewalk and "bike route" through Dave Thomas Circle and crashed into a structure. In both cases, the city was extremely lucky that neither the occupants of the vehicles nor people on the sidewalk were killed. Please investigate high speeds on NY and FL avenues and unsafe, high speed right turns from NY Ave southbound to Florida Ave westbound. Please study leading pedestrian intervals. Please also add speed cameras on NY and FL avenues. Please also implement other traffic calming measures including narrower lanes on NY Ave, adding pedestrian bulb-outs, and simplifying pedestrian and bike routes between NoMa and Eckington.
