I have been involved in trying to get the parking back on Long Hill Rd. since former Police Chief Baldoni took it away from us, not because of accidents, speeding, or other problems, but for reasons of her own. We have tried to get the City to follow State Statute and grant us a hearing on this topic, but so far they have not responded to our letter of intent to appeal Chief Baldoni's decision. Come one, City Council--get moving, and answer our letter. Set a date for our appeal!

As a Long Hill Road resident I don't want this fixed. there's no room for on street parking. Unfortunately when Ridgely was developed owners had only one car now owners have 2+ cars, that's why there's no room in their lots for visitors. They have the Barns to park in or be neighborly and let people park in their stalls in there's a family event!

living in this neighborhood for over 10 years it has been very nice to not have to drive around cars/buses parked on the side of the street. It was dangerous when vehicles were allowed to do so. So let's keep things the same, no on street parking! it's safe for those using the roadways....let's put our efforts to more important things for our neighborhood other than this parking nonsense, it's really getting boring............

If, when Ridgely Two was built, the new residents had only one car per unit, why was each unit assigned two parking spaces? Even back in the 1970s many families had more than one car. Because of events at the barns, parking is not always available there--and would you want to have to walk to and from the barns in any and all kinds of weather if you were elderly and had arthritis or some other condition? We do share our spaces when possible. I'm not sure the road is safer because people now go faster than the 25 mph speed limit, and I've seen them drive down the middle of the road instead of keeping right. People parked on the west side of the road for over 30 years with no accidents and no speeding tickets, per our FOIA information from the Police Dept. There was no real need to take the right to park on our street away from us.

Stopping to go around a car or bus is hardly equal to having a family life!!! Some residents and visitors are elderly and are not capable of walking from the Barns.

are you kidding me? get a life? if elderly or people not able to walk from the Barns shuttle them in for ....sakes! this is making a mountain out of a mole hill. there must have been an alternative for many years now....stop making this such an issue it's not any one person's fault. Face the facts, the law is the law.

I believe that since the condos were built (1975), parking was allowed on the west side of Long Hill Rd. That was the case when I moved here in 2002. There is apparently no record of any accidents, speeding tickets or other problems for over 30 years. Therefore, the former police chief "broke" something that was working just fine--remember the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? If Long Hill Road is too narrow for allowing parking along one side, perhaps all the other narrow residential streets in Middletown should also be "broken" ("fixed"?), to be consistent.

The west side condos were built in the late 1980's adding another 100+ cars to the area. On street parking is a problem that has to stop. It is much safer and wiser without it. Let's support No Parking on sides of street!

Parking may have been allowed on the west side on the street when Ridgely was built in the the 70's because Long Hill (on the west side) was started until 1987 through 1989. After that, you have added 100+ units to the street, 2+ cars per unit, so I'm sure parking was "curbed". This issue has nothing to do with one person, there are many people who think the same and again, the law is the law!

Then...the law should be applied all over Middletown! We have been singled out!

Getting a little repetitive, aren't you? You apparently aren't as affected by the lack of parking as some of us are. May I use your visitor parking spaces so I can have my family at my home for Thanksgiving Dinner this coming November? I have five siblings and they would have to come in separate cars. Obviously we have a problem, because our circle has only two visitor spaces for l8 units, and I'm sure some of the other residents hope to have visitors, also. So I hope you will offer your spaces so I can be with family, in my home, for Thanksgiving. Thank you.

The law here is about minimum street width to allow for parking. All over Middletown, there are streets too narrow for parking, but they have parking. Here by Wesleyan Hills condos, parking had been allowed, but suddenly was not -- just after the then-police chief moved in. Seems very unfair and inconvenient. As a Wes Hills home owner, i say, bring back the parking.

So... two wrongs make a right? I say if a street is too narrow for parking then there shouldn't be parking.. all over Middletown. You can't have two lanes of traffic when there is only 1 lane's worth of space available. There came to be so many cars, trucks, schoolbuses and car carriers parked on my (Long Hill condos) side of the road that I could not see down the street to pull out of the parking lot safely. I eventually had to pull out blindly and hope for the best. And this was at 6:15 in the morning on a work day, not Thanksgiving! That's a lot of 'visitors'.
