This location was inspected and will be repaired! The repair consists of 4 ADA ramp repairs, as well as additional sidewalk repairs. I will email the team for an update!

There are several steps included when making a large repair like such, which includes budgeting and legislation approvals, and I will reach out to see what information I can get for you!

Since you brought up budgeting, has the now mandatory Public Works quarterly budget spending reports come out for this quarter or year to date?

This year's budget was already approved for 3.5% of the city's annual budget for Public Infrastructure by City Council. DPW is REQUIRED to spend the money and, now, account for how they spent it quarterly. So, budgeting and legislation were already approved. An estimate for the work has already been made. This particular project may be folded in with other neighborhood projects, but I don't know for sure. As far as the holdup, have I missed something?

I just spoke with Shauncey. Her office handles repair of existing sidewalk. She is working on ADA ramps and sidewalk repair along Moreland and across from the property address. Not the new sidewalk needed (missing) along North Ave for this street address, which was the original issue. While I am glad she is working on the repair issues along Moreland, She tells me Capitol Projects handles new sidewalks which are needed along North. Can you please give us an update from Capitol Projects?

This is very disappointing that this issue remains open since June of 2018 and I am told to contact main City numbers to try to resolve. I have submitted a total of 4 issues with ATL 311 via SeeClickFix and all 4 are still open since June of this year. I am not sure ATL311 or SeeClickFix is very effective when issues are not resolved despite resident communication, images and continued follow up by residents.

I queried the current impeding right-of-way projects and was not able to locate one for this location. Did you make a new sidewalk request with the transportation division in the Public Works Department? Why was this request through ATL311 not processed to request a new sidewalk? Is there a reason you cannot make this request with the transportation division in the Public Works Department?

They stated that the property owner is responsible for installing and paying for the sidewalk. If you have further questions about this issue please contact them directly at 404-330-6501.

The City if the Property owner! Below is my original post from June 13th stating the City is owner under the lease for Freedom Park. Please call the Division of Transportation back and make sure they are aware of this and the requirement for them as owner to install the sidewalk.

"Public record indicates 617 Moreland Ave NE is owned by the DOT and leased to the City of Atlanta under the Freedom Parkway lease. The sidewalk is entirely broken. As the property owner, the City is responsible for fixing this sidewalk. Sidewalk needs to be repaired by City."

Please let me know if you have updated the Transportation Division that the property in question is owned by the City.
