Description

There is an approx. 2 foot deep sink hole in the NW corner of Hunt Park. It is a serious trip and fall hazard. Someone could break a leg. The hole is on a line between the tall fur tree near Spring St and the park shelter, closer to Spring St than to Sunset. There are several other shallow dips throughout Hunt Park including a low spot that often fills with rain wanter in front of the baseball backstop. Could these be filled in if you have a truck with some dirt up to fill in the deeper sink hole?

If the sink hole won't be fixed soon (within a day or two), please put an orange cone or other marker in the hole to warn park users of the danger.

When will this issue be addressed? I put an orange cone and some caution tape around the hole myself because it is hard to see and dangerous.

This problem has not been fixed. I just called the Parks Department on the phone and asked for them to take action soon. They said they would report it to the maintenance department. And just now I got a call back to say that a crew would be sent out today or tomorrow.

This problem hasn't been fixed. I just spoke to Cory at the Parks Service phone line. He remembered my call from two weeks ago (he wasn't the person I spoke with then) and was surprised that the issue hadn't been addressed. He was going to call over to Parks Maintenance and see if he could get someone to take action.

This sink hole has sunk again. It appears to be a very deep hole. It is dangerous. It needs to be filled again.

Thank you for letting us know that it has opened up again. We are going to investigate as to why it has opened back up, we will need the ground to freeze up before we can drive large vehicles into the park.
