Description

Tonight I turned south onto Warren from Grand St. A Lyft car was speeding north on Warren!! This is a one way south street once you are south or Morris. He barely missed hitting my car and continued north on Warren, a one-way street, despite my honking and kept going until he turned east on Grand. This is truly awful. My husband was almost hit this afternoon at Van Vorst and Sussex because a Fresh Direct truck was parked on Van Vorst to deliver to the Lenox, which has no driveway for deliveries, and the truck blocked pedestrians from seeing on-coming cars. This should not be put on citizens and HIGH PAYING TAXPAYERS to report nightly on the threats of walking the streets in Paulus Hook. I consider this to be an emergency matter which should have the full attention of the City of Jersey City and its various departments. The traffic patterns may have made sense two or three decades ago when much of the area was vacant lots and single-family row houses. It makes no sense now. Cars exiting the Lenox's garage on Sussex west of Van Vorst have increased the volume on the corner tremendously. The road is two narrow for two way traffic with huge Escalades/trucks dominating--two can't pass each other easily. Please do a traffic study and rethink the entire area south of Grand and east of Van Vorst. Thank you.
