As yes. My wife and I also fell for this slick and deceptive sale. Fortunately, we managed to get out of the contract by faxing our withdrawal claim within the 3 days grace period. WE had to follow up several times during the day to make sure they had it. Several of those times they claimed that the fax was no legible. So we send it via email and it was accepted. Very slick salesman. Clean cut and articulate kid from Utah attending BYU. However, something did not seem right after we signed the contract. WE looked up complaints about APX and we felt scammed. If we did not get out of the contract before 3 working days we would have been stuck with an unbreakable 5 year contract. The equipment seemed adequate. However we were naive enough to believe that if a window was broken the VOIP console would have been able to detect it by the decibel level of the sound. Not true, there was not even sensors on the windows. For a smoke detect just buy one. For door and window sensors just buy some.
APX seems to be a reputable company. However, their salesmen are slick enough to talk you into something that you may not want or it may not be adequate for your needs.
If you want a security system for your property. Do your homework first. APX, ADT and other legitimate companies seem to be able to help out. However DO NOT be suckered by a slick salesman. Their drive is to make a commission off the sale.
