Update from St. Petersburg Police Department:
Thank you for your SeeClickFix #4825787 to Mayor Rick Kriseman dated August 22, 2018. The Mayor has asked me to respond directly to you regarding your concern of traffic congestion in the area of 77th Avenue North and 16th Street at 2:00 pm each day. Community Service Officer Jill Harris was assigned to address this concern and did respond to the location. On August 27 & 28 during the times specified, Officer Harris noticed that there was some traffic related congestion possibly related to the pick-up time for a nearby elementary school. In the coming days, Community Service Sergeant Jason Deary and Officer Harris will travel to the area and educate motorists observed to be in violation or illegally parked. Sergeant Deary will also speak with school employees and ensure that pick up and drop off procedures are efficient and effective, and conducted in a timely manner. This should help alleviate residual back up traffic on 16th Street.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact Community Service Sergeant Jason Deary at 727-892-5989
Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention.
Sincerely,
Joseph Dente
Assistant Chief of Police
