this bridge needs to be repaved, all the freeze and thaw in the cracks of the pavement can not be good for the overall structure of the bridge (which also needs repair in places)

I don't know how much it'll help, but the Wikipedia article about the bridge is pretty informative. The links provide some info on maintenance.

A full renovation was planned by the FHA in 2009, but still hasn't gone underway. I really hope the bridge is never retired. The newer 9W bridge is ugly, but I understand that it's keeping our traffic problems at bay. The Wurts Street bridge is beautiful, but unfortunately, is also obsolete.
