Sidewalk repairs and replacements are completed only at the time when the street is resurfaced, during construction season. Our goal at the DPW Street Maintenance Division is to is to maintain the City of Detroit's roadways in order to promote safe travels within the City.

This is flat-out false. DPW replaced portions of sidewalk on Lakewood between Jefferson and Kercheval over the summer. The street was not being resurfaced. The sidewalk was not in front of recent tear-downs. The homeowners did not pay to have sidewalk resurfaced.
