Description

Hello,
I'm writing to let know that the traffic conditions in downtown JC today (10/06/2018) was downright unbearable due to the street closures for a parade.
A simple drive from my home (186 Wayne St.) to the Acme grocery store took well over 1 hour and a half.
This level of congestion is not only overly burdensome on motorists, but also poses a grave health issue to anyone needing emergency medial services. It's more that a bit scary to think about someone needing an ambulance in these conditions. This would essentially be a death sentence to someone having a hear attack or any other serious medical condition.
I understand that these parades are enjoyable to some, but there must be a better location to host them. I my opinion, Liberty State Park is a much better venue for such events. Having such events there would almost certainly lessen the traffic impact on downtown Jersey City. Anything better that total gridlock would be preferable and safer for all.

Thank you,
A. Gordon Sooknarine
