What’s particularly frustrating about the lack of follow up by the City on this ongoing issue is, while the City asserts that the State Police has jurisdiction here and therefore is in charge of related enforcement, why does City staff mow the grass and tend to the trees on this stretch of Fresh Pond Parkway? I’m not suggesting they shouldn’t tend to the grounds - rather that someone take tangible action and responsibility for the safety of citizens and passers by.
We have spoken with the Department of Conservation and Recreation and they are planning to install bollards in the next year. For more information please contact mass.parks@state.ma.us.
Who in our City is responsible for execution schedules of the DCR for safety improvements affecting all of us?
2017 was the DCR completion date for the Cambridge/Watertown Bikeway.
August 2018, a reduced traffic time in the year, was the due date for installation of the lights to support the bus lane on Mount Auburn Street. “Lights” were finally delivered November 2018.
Accountability, where is it?
And, thank you for the prediction of 2020 for installation of bollards. Really, a year or two from now, for simple bollards?
