“Pothole” is just the beginning—Hopkins between Monterey and San Pablo is almost impassable for bikes. The entire roadbed, including in particular the right side of the lane, is in desperate straits. This is a major bike route, used among other things to access Ohlone Greenway. The conditions are creating an incredible danger for bicyclists, and obviously cause extra wear and tear on cars as well. I was shocked to see that Hopkins does not appear on the list of planned street repair projects on the City of Berkeley website.
