Description
If you pull out of Teddy Bear Pools and take a left heading towards Springfield. (east / south east) There are no speed limit signs on the entire stretch of road. The first sign is on the Chicopee / Springfield line, technically its in Springfield. This is by far one of the most dangerous stretches of road in the city. I live within ear shot of East st and on most day's and nights it sounds like a race track. The summer time is even worse. If there's no Speed limit posted how would the Police enforce the "posted speed limit" in that direction? Maybe that's why the speed limit isn't enforced on East street in that direction? Make in 20 MPH.

The city can not just put speed limit signs up wherever they want or think there should be one. There is a process that involves the state to do a speed study and determine what the speed limit should be and then approve the speed limit sign. Until that is done the city does have an ordinance city wide that if there is no speed limit sign then the speed limit SHALL be 25MPH. If you are still having an issue with the speed on the street then please contact your councilor or the police dept.
