Description
Apartment complex at 520 89th Ave N has had a tarp over their roof for more than six months. I've spoken to some of the people that live there, the woman who lives in apartment 2 (not under the tarp) says her ceiling caved in and wasn't properly fixed. The woman in apartment 7 says a brown stain is increasingly growing on the bedroom ceiling of her apartment, and the people who have recently moved out of apartment 5 directly under the tarp said the landlord patched and painted over the hole where their ceiling was leaking but made no attempt to fix the roof other than placing the tarp on it. Several other of the complex's tenants have told me of various issues from leaking pipes under the foundation (500 89th Ave N apartment #1) to electrical issues (500 89th Ave apartment #2) that have not been addressed while the landlord has increased their rent without making any accommodations to fix the problems. I am concerned about my own property value with this slum lord living in my neighborhood, as well as the safety of these tenants and their families.
