Description
The LED (?) streetlight across from my house is far too bright. Also, the streetlight on Balsam street (don't have the pole number) sends blinding, intrusive glare into my backyard. In fact, all the LED streetlights in this neighborhood are far too bright, sending blinding glare far beyond any reasonable, useful distance.

Thanks for the quick reply. Here's a link to the IDA page reviewing how light pollution, and in particular blue light emitting LED's, harm human health and the environment:

The page also shows shielding options, which I think is probably what we're looking at here. Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry, but the issue has not been addressed. The same lights as noted above are still throwing unshilelded, blinding glare into my yard and house. The light across the street from me (57 Brierwood Ln.) lights up my (and my neighbors') entire front yard like it's daylight. This blinding, excessive light has been proven to harm plant and animal health and growth, and to disrupt human sleep.

But there's more. Excessive night lighting actually makes neighborhoods less safe, not more. Drivers are blinded by the glare, and the deep shadows provide cover for criminals. It makes an evening walk (or just stepping into your yard) a miserable experience, and forget about stargazing.
These lamps must be dimmed and shielded. It's a matter of human, animal, and plant safety and health, and quality of life. Many, many people are complaining about this, and rightly so. It may seem like a trivial issue, but it's not, and it must be corrected.

Best practices would indicate that lamps should be in the 2700K range as well. Anything higher on the Kelvin scale emits far too much blue light - that same blue light that has shown to have deleterious effects on our sleep and health from our screens. ALL street lights that are being upgraded to LED should be in the 2700K range (warm light) and should be shielded and positioned so as to not invade private yards and houses.
