Description
Had to open a seperate case again because the fighting needs to stop. Yes if they are feral cats, they will let the people that are feeding them pet them and hold them and etc. That is the problem. They can act domesticated and they are not so if another person approaches the cat, it would scare them and they could bite. The point is that most people are animal lovers but feral cats are not domestic cats, they are meant to live in a rural setting and they will be just fine. Keeping them in neighborhoods is a really bad idea for all involved. Animal control needs to talk to the homeowner to solve the problem. Because of all the construction, more of these feral cats are getting into the neighborhoods.

This situation has been been addressed several times by the Animal Control Unit. I am sorry if it has not been fully rectified to satisfy everyone. Tickets have been issued, subjects have been put on probation and animal control inestigates/follows up every time an issue is reported. If there is a violation the ACO's of this department will issue tickets. Please be advised that the Sterling Heights Animal Control Unit has handled and will continue work on this matter.
