As part of the Concord Public Work’s Roadway Improvements project, Baker Ave/Baker Ave Ext is scheduled to receive drainage improvements and full depth pavement rehabilitation beginning this Spring. The limits stretch from Main Street to Route 2. The contractor, Lazaro Paving will begin by replacing and installing new drainage infrastructure along Bake Ave and Baker Ave Extension. Once the drainage infrastructure is completed, the roadway will be reclaimed, graded, and paved with the first course of asphalt. The second portion of the project will involve prepping the roadway to receive the final course of asphalt. Typically, roadways that receive full-depth reconstruction are subjected to one freeze-thaw cycle to allow for any imperfection to present themselves and be repaired prior to installing the final top course of pavement. The contractor will finish the roadway construction by loaming and seeding disturbed areas, adjusting driveway aprons and performing final clean up.
