That's the problem - it's a residential area with houses all around. It's not a highway. But thanks for being super condescending and spending your time anonymously making fun of other people on a Saturday.

I agree, the circle is v badly laid out to accommodate significant traffic AND residential use. I big source of frustration for drivers (and cause of aggressive honking that disturbs residents) is the 32 traffic lights surrounding the circle. The whole purpose of a circle is to eliminate the traffic lights. Traffic glows v inefficiently and drivers honk at each set of lights. Meanwhile pedestrians also have to wait for lights which don't last long enough. I would prefer no traffic lights, large signs to warn its a residential area, one way traffic on P st, and enforcement of zebra crossings for pedestrians rather than crossing lights. Ideally large trucks would be routed by other roads into DC.
