Description
Hi,
Since the repair of Weaver Dairy Rd Ext. the traffic signal doesn't work efficiently; A green light is given to Weaver Dairy Rd Ext. when no car is waiting. To make matters worse - The green light for turning right is then being applied, again, without any car waiting to turn.

Thank you are contacting the Town of Chapel Hill.
When the road was repaved, the in-road detectors destroyed and removed from the road. Therefore, the signal cannot detect movements on the Weaver Dairy approach. The signal controller observes the damage and then provides an automatic call to those approaches. The controller assumes there is always traffic on the approach and the maximum amount, in order not to maroon vehicles on the approach.
The Town has reduced the maximum times on those approaches until the detectors can be replaced. The Town will need the contractor to place pavement markings on the approach before the loops can be reinstalled.
