They have been throwing lit cigarettes into the grass and have a hammock tied to our neighbors tree. There are at least 3-4 people and they are starring at our house. We feel very unsafe and are afraid to leave the house unattended. Please evict them at once.

Dear City of Berkeley, please do your job and do something about this immediately or homeowners will start doing it themselves. You are putting your tax paying residents in a very uncomfortable (not to mention unsafe) position.

I too feek uncomfortable this. But this is more about me than about their presence. They look like they're just trying to get by.

I have walked and biked past the encampment a few times. I hope we can be more compassionate than just running them from one place to another. In these times I hate to make their lives even harder.

Phil, you realize that a tent encampment is now there, as well as some five to six RVs. The guys looked able-bodied.

Needles are now appearing. What is the status of this request?

San Francisco has enabled homelessness and now they have an unsustainable crisis. I hope Berkeley is not following the same path. I love the Bay Area but if this is the new normal I can't raise our family here.

This encampment is blocking the sidewalk.

the encampment is still there. a neighbor brought it to the mayor's attention, and the mayor responded as follows: "Steven, I have asked that this encampment be added to the list for enforcement under our Sidewalk Administrative Regulation 10.2 and for encampment resolution. Tents are not allowed to be up in the daytime and temporary non commercial objects are not allowed on residential sidewalks. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
